Candidate Information 2014
Lisa Juarez – I have been a resident of the community since January 2006. I would like to continue to participate on the Board of Directors because I want to actively be involved in my community and help it to continue to be an attractive and inviting neighborhood.
I have served on the Sunrise at Wigwam Board for the past 8 years and also serve on the Design Review Committee. I was a Director for my local realtor association for 2 years and also served at the state level for 2 years.
Marie Spillett – My name is Marie Spillett and I have been living in this community since November 2001. I am proud to be a resident of our community. Once again it is time to consider candidates for open positions on the HOA Board of Directors. For the past 4 years I have been able to give back service to our community as one of your HOA Board members and would be happy to continue serving you in this capacity. When making your decision for candidates, please consider voting for me.
I am aware of the struggles we are all facing in a less than perfect economy and like you I am in favor of maintaining our community in a way we can all manage comfortably, without excess added burden.
Thank you for allowing me to serve you in the past 4 years. A vote for me will allow me to serve you for the next 2 years.
Exterior Painting Notice to Members
January 23, 2013
Dear Sunrise At Wigwam Association Members,
If you have lived in the community for a few years you may be aware that the association began the process of changing out the granite in the common areas to a larger more attractive color and size some time ago. The areas of Litchfield Road, 142nd Lane and 144th Avenue were completed. The project stopped for a couple of years due to financial constraints with our assessment collection and the troubled housing market.
The association’s financial outlook is stronger again and the Board of Directors is ready to move forward in completing some additional projects in 2013. Coming in March you will see the perimeter walls of the community being painted. Later in the year, after painting is complete, the granite project will be completed on both Wigwam Boulevard and Indian School Road.
In conjunction with these updates to the community, all Owners are being asked to paint the exterior of their homes within the next 14 months. For those who made request and have painted in the last 3 years, your files have already been noted that this work is complete.
You will need to complete the architectural submittal form located on the community website at www.wigwamhoa.com with your paint color choices. On the website homepage you will also find approved color pallets from Frazee Paints and Dunn Edwards. You may also submit for alternate desert toned colors. If you choose to submit a request with colors other than those from Frazee or Dunn Edwards, color samples will be needed for the Design Review Committee to review. Please remember that a submittal form is required in either case so that the Committee can track homes as they are painted.
The association has a list of painting contractors available to you if this would be of assistance. The list has been generated from owners in the community who have recently painted and were happy with the pricing and quality of the work done.
This project is important to the community and will help to increase curb appeal and property values for everyone. Please contact Peri or Frances at Kinney Management at the number above if you would like a copy of the paint contractor list or if you have questions.

Bulk Trash Collection Days Being Reduced To Once a Month Beginning Oct. 1
The City of Goodyear has changed the bulk trash pickup from twice a month to once a month beginning on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012.
The recommendation to reduce bulk trash pickup days to once a month was approved by City Council in April 2012 and was overwhelmingly supported by Goodyear residents in a citizen survey conducted in October 2011. Data from the citizen survey reflected that 85 percent of residents used bulk trash pickup only once a month and sometimes less. Half of the respondents who said they used bulk trash pickup twice a month supported the reduction to once a month.
Goodyear residents can find information on the bulk trash pickup in the City’s website at goodyearaz.gov/trash. On the website landing page, residents can click on the Sanitation Service Day Finder link and then enter their house number address to discover which day of the month will be their new bulk trash collection date. The website also includes short videos to show residents how to use the Sanitation Service Day Finder link and what items should be left on the curb on bulk trash collection days.
The purpose of the City of Goodyear’s bulk trash collection program is to pickup larger items that do not fit in regular-sized trash cans. Bulk trash items collected by the City of Goodyear include yard waste, furniture, mattresses, appliances and other large household items. All bulk items need to be tied in bundles or placed in boxes and placed on the curb on collection days.
The new bulk trash service does not affect the already established weekly pickup days for regular trash and recycle collection. Goodyear residents can call the City’s Sanitation Department at 623-932-3010 or go to goodyearaz.gov/trash for more information.
Please feel free to include this information in your neighborhood newsletters and website and share it with your neighbors.
